Her range is still (thankfully) fairly limited, but a final lunge can add a few extra inches...
Filled with confidence by her new ability to explore the world, the Bean headed out with Mom and Dad on Saturday for her longest road trip yet--to Montreal! The Bean has almost outgrown her infant car seat, so this trip would be the debut for its replacement. In a word, the Bean was thrilled by her new throne, which offers a better view out the window, more room to stretch, and an adorable pink polka dot pattern.
Everyone had a good time on the ride North, stopping at Johnny Rockets for lunch.
By the time she approached the border, the Bean was pretty sure she had the hang of Dad's job.
As much fun as she had on the ride, the Bean was ready to stretch out when she got to the hotel.
When it came time to go out, the Bean had to prepare herself for the weather--it is a lot colder in Montreal than New York!
The Bean had a chance on Sunday to have brunch with a very special person--Dad's cousin (and Dory's aunt) Julia! It was a wonderful way to start the day.
Later on Sunday, in an effort to get out of the wind and the cold, Mom, Dad and the Bean visited the Montreal Biodome. The Bean spent a few minutes with Dad scrutinizing the plants and animals (including the golden lion tamarin)...
And then she assumed the facial expression she would wear for the rest of her visit--a smile of enormous proportions!
After all that excitement, the Bean decided to have a relaxing evening back at the hotel with her babysitter, while Mom and Dad headed out to Alex and Jesse's wedding--the original reason for the visit to Montreal.
Monday brought the return trip to New York, including a lunch stop at the Cracker Barrel. After puzzling over the presence of Christmas decorations on Columbus Day...
The Bean settled in for lunch, and reflected back on what a good trip she had had.
