Before leaving, she had time to make her final rounds in town, meeting Celena's friend Kristi for lunch:

Seeing Hanna again for breakfast (still no baby!):

And finally mastering the Stockholm subway system:

Mom and Dad enjoyed a final chance to partake of the food and atmosphere of Stockholm with the Bean looking on:

The trip home to New York offered plenty of opportunities to turn into a disaster. The Bean had to wake up at 3:30 am Saturday, Stockholm time (9:30 pm Friday night in New York) to get ready, and left for the airport at 4:30 am (with the sun about to rise on the horizon). But the Bean continued to amaze Mom and Dad with her ability to take it in stride. She was clearly skeptical about waking up that early, but not upset or angry. And once on the plane (where Mom and Dad ended up with four seats, plus the bassinet), she had a grand time napping, eating, and taking a tour of her first 747.
Having had such a relaxing ride, the Bean decided she would try to help out on the Customs declaration form. Although the OMB Paperwork Reduction Act Notice says it should only take 4 minutes to complete the form, the Bean spent considerably longer looking for the line to declare the number of mooses in your travelling party.

Back in New York, the Bean (and Mom and Dad) spent the rest of Saturday getting some fresh air and trying to stay awake into the evening. The Bean did well, falling asleep around 8, and waking up Sunday morning at 5:15--early, but not ridiculously early. It is a beautiful morning in New York:

The Bean had a great trip, but she's clearly happy to be home:

A note about paper--You may have noticed the Bean holding the subway map, the customs form and some tissue paper in these pictures. In the last few days, she has discovered the seductive pleasure of the feel and sound of crinkling paper. It's her new hobby, and she's very devoted to it.
